WHY IT MAY BE THE RIGHT OPTION FOR YOU

For the reasons listed below, a number of my clients believe Compassionate Counsel Online provides them with the best value in professional counseling available anywhere in the world today.

_________

1. CONVENIENCE. They waste no time getting dressed...they don't have to fight traffic while driving to a counselor's office...they don't have to lose time in the waiting room reading magazines while waiting for the counselor's previous appointment to end...and they don't have to endure inefficient small talk or other interruptions during the session.

Instead, they can ask their questions when they think of them and when it's convenient for them -- in the privacy, convenience and comfort of their own home or office.

2. COST CONTROL. All of my clients have the option of putting an advance ceiling on what they're willing to spend, to insure that they stay within the comfort zone of their personal budget. In effect, they can say: "Give me $35 worth of counseling in response to this question." And that's exactly what they will get. They are never charged one dime more than they agree to pay. Under the ceiling plan, there are no surprises.

3. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE. There's no 6-8 week wait -- or longer -- to get in to see the counselor. I typically reply to you within 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes even less.

4. HIGH EFFICIENCY. Writing out their questions focuses them on exactly what they want to say. There's no wasted time beating around the bush with fuzzy thinking, trying to retrieve lost thoughts or chit-chatting about irrelevant issues.

5. UNPARALLELED VALUE. My clients are able to get right to the point and cover all the issues they need to cover, without the pressure of sitting in front of a counselor while the clock is ticking. In effect, E-mail counseling is "Counseling Concentrate" -- producing in a single hour the advice dispensed in up to three typical in-person office sessions.

6. TOTAL RECALL. One of the biggest pluses is that my clients have every word of my advice in writing! They can print it out and refer to it as often as they like, rather than trying to remember, "Now what did my counselor say?"

7. PROTECTION. Since their counselor's advice is in writing, they know they're far less likely to receive "off-the-wall" advice. This may be why so few counselors are willing to counsel online - they cannot deny the advice they've given. They know whatever they say in writing has to be absolutely reliable. The performance pressure and professional vulnerability of a counselor under this level of scrutiny is quite high.

8. IN-DEPTH RESPONSE. My online clients don't get the counselor's surface, spur-of-the-moment, off-the-cuff response - which happens in office counseling situations far more than most counselors would like to admit.

Instead, I have time to read their E-mail case, leave it for awhile to mull it over, reflect on it for hours, and do whatever research is necessary before coming back to it and providing them with a studied, balanced, insightful reply.

9. GREATER FREEDOM. For most of my online clients, the relative anonymity of E-mail counseling relaxes them and encourages them to go into far greater depth, exploring the really tough issues that must be dealt with - than would be the case if they were having to confess particularly delicate issues face-to-face.

10. CONFIDENTIALITY. Although all counselors are supposed to keep their sessions private, some of my clients have been horrified to learn that their home town counselors have disclosed some of their most private and potentially damaging secrets to the counselor's spouse or a few close "friends."

Reputations can be irreparably damaged, as a result. By going out of town to an online counselor, there are no in-common friends, neighbors or business associates to worry about.

11. ANONYMITY. In areas of extreme delicacy, or when my clients are nationally/globally prominent people, they have the option of counseling with me in total anonymity. They send me money orders by mail, in effect creating "counseling vouchers" for use with their anonymous screen names. In these cases, I have no idea who I'm counseling.

Understandably, many counselors are unwilling to perform this kind of service. However, I perfectly understand why some of my clients have this need. If they cannot be guaranteed absolute anonymity - even from their counselor - they will never feel safe to go for the counseling they so desperately need.

12. COUNSELOR CONFIDENCE. Although I may or may not know my clients, every one of them knows exactly who I am and where to find me. I give out my street office address and my office telephone (5110 Lincoln Av/ Evansville IN 47715 - 812/473-5117), which means my clients can rest secure in the knowledge that I make no attempt to hide behind my computer or a post office box number.

I'm in the nationally accessible Ameritech Yellow Pages - complete with a display ad that carries my picture. I write a weekly Scripps-Howard newspaper mental health column read by tens of thousands of people that also appears on the web. I have appeared as a guest expert on numerous radio and television programs aired nationally and in 130 countries around the world.

13.  LOW COST. Because of the absence of overhead possible through online counseling (no secretarial or receptionist wages and benefits to pay, no expensive office suite to lease, furnish and maintain), I am able to keep my counseling rates rock-bottom low.

Unlike many of my colleagues who must charge $200-$300 for each 45-minute therapy session because of their high maintenance costs, I am able to give you a full, 60-minute hour of first-rate professional counsel for just $90.

But what if you don't need a full hour's worth of counseling? Because of the economies of office counseling, most professionals simply cannot allow you to come in and receive, say, just 13 minutes of advice.

Online, however, I can afford to do precisely that for you. If all you need or want is 13 minutes of advice, my $90/hr rate of $1.50/minute means you will pay me just $19.50.

14. CREDIT CARD SECURITY. By clicking on my password secure, encryption-activated Counseling Request Form,  my clients' personal and credit card information are absolute safe.

Others of my clients simply call my office at 812/473-5117 and leave their credit card numbers on my password-secure private voice mail.

15. COMPASSION. It doesn't take my clients long to discover why my practice is named, "Compassionate Counsel." I care about them and their struggles. Deeply.

Perhaps more than any other reason, that's why my clients keep coming back again and again. That's why they refer their friends and loved ones. And that's why together, we see so many of them experience the life change they seek.
